Work Package 12: Development of alternative new methods for DIVA detection of nucleic acids and antibodies for laboratory use and for on-site testing of domestic pigs and wild boars

Objectives

  • 1) Selection and optimisation of powerful sample preparation and enrichment methods
  • 2) Development and standardisation of suspension micro array DIVA assays, based on Luminex technology, for high throughput detection of viral nucleic acids and antibodies
  • 3) Development, optimization and standardization of diagnostic methods, which are suitable for use in basic laboratories on samples from domestic pigs including back yard pigs and in wild boar.
  • 4) Development, optimization and standardization of diagnostic methods, which are suitable for use under very simple field conditions (on-site diagnosis) on samples from domestic pigs including back yard pigs and in wild boar
  • 5) Standardization of newly developed DIVA diagnostic methods for sensitive, specific and rapid detection of CSFV in domestic pigs including back yard pigs and in wild boar.
