Objectives
-
A: Evaluation of available diagnostic tools for antibody detection for DIVA purposes
- 1) Preliminary evaluation of DIVA properties of commercially available ELISA tests using sera from animals experimentally vaccinated with a 3rd generation modified live CSFV marker vaccine and sera from CSFV-infected and CSFV-free animals
- 2) Evaluation of two selected ELISAs within an interlaboratory comparison test using field and animal experiment samples
-
B: The development and optimization of sensitive and specific indirect or blocking / competition tests to detect antibodies to selected positive and negative marker antigens
- 1) Characterization of available monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and epitopic mapping
- 2) Characterization of Erns epitopes based on peptide scanning
- 3) Testing of suitability of the antigens and mAbs in ELISA tests
